Cataracts are among the leading causes of blindness in the United States.
Even if a cataract has not caused a person to go blind, cataracts can diminish a person's vision
to the point where they are unable to drive, to perform necessary tasks at work, or to perform
necessary daily activities of living in a safe manner.
While most of us enjoy the gift of sight on a daily basis, not stopping to
think of how truly Blessed we are, many people suffer from lost or
diminished vision and don't know where to turn for help.
This Christmas Season, in the spirit of the holiday and with the idea of
providing service to our community, James N. McManus, M.D., Board Certified
Ophthalmologist & Cataract Specialist at The Eye Institute for Medicine & Surgery,
and his colleague, Jason K. Darlington M.D., would like to offer the
gift of sight to a resident of Brevard County, Florida, suffering from vision loss
as a result of cataracts, who is uninsured and in need.
